THE PROBLEM
We are a petroleum hungry country. In 2005, United States automobiles consumed 9 million barrels of gasoline a day*! At $3.00 per gallon, that's over one billion dollars per day. The related pollution has created smog, polluted our air and contributed to global warming.
Current automobiles are very inefficient. They waste 75% of the potential energy in each gallon of gasoline. That means only one quart out of every gallon of gas is effectively converted to power. The rest is discharged as heat from the radiator and exhaust.
There is strong support for alternative fuels from many sectors. However, while reducing dependency on imported oil; alternative fuel options will not reduce overall fuel consumption.

Lydell Industries, LLC, has invented the Lydell Third Stroke Engine (Patent Pending) that increases the average car fuel economy to 45 mpg, which would save millions of gallons of gasoline per day.
This amazing increase in automobile fuel economy and pollution reduction is accomplished by internally transferring thermal energy (heat) normally lost to the car's radiator, to additional thermal energy for actual engine power output. There is currently three time more energy lost to the cooling system and exhaust system than the energy that powers the car.
This is a proven technology that has already been demonstrated on several of our prototype engines.
Additionally, this new engine can be designed to use any of the currently available fuels, plus emerging fuel sources such as hydrogen gas and ethanol gasoline blends.
OUR GOAL
To Create a new automobile engine that increases average mileage by 100%, and to make this technology available to the automotive industry. |
